When you dive
into the World Wide Web with the thought of turning
it into an income, it's easy to be intimidated by technology.
Don't let that happen to you!
The first thing you need to realize is that you'll
make mistakes. You'll break things, you'll forget things
and you'll feel just plain stupid sometimes. It happens.
That happens in any business. And it happens to the
most experienced businesspeople in the world. The only
real trick is to offer value that exceeds the price
of the product and to keep your customers in mind first.
If you do that, most mistakes won't matter much.
The things you really have to avoid in your online
business are simple:
1.Don't lie.
2.Don't spam.
3.Don't violate your customers' privacy.
4.Don't make promises your product can't fulfill.
That's pretty much it. There are a lot of things that
you can do wrong, but if you don't make any of the 4
big mistakes, you'll be forgiven.
In order to be successful, you have to get started.
That may sound obvious, but it's where a lot of people
fail. They procrastinate, or they just don't believe
it will work. So, they don't do anything.
Again, don't make that mistake.
Your product will never be perfect. If you're a perfectionist,
it will never be good enough for you. All you really
need to do is get it good enough to deliver value beyond
what the customer pays you, and present that value in
an honest way.
Then - Roll it out!
You can always create upgrades later. And there's a
very good chance that your customers will have a different
idea of what's more important than you will. Get the
thing out there and making you money, and fix the inevitable
problems as you go.
It will be much easier to create a real business that
makes real money if you take that advice.
Most people get tripped up on the product part. They
don't have a clue how to create a product to market,
or how to get one that already exists. Once they have
a product, they’ll work at getting sales until they
finally figure that part out.
Let’s make it simple.
To set up a business that's automatic, you want a digital
product. Something people can download immediately after
purchasing it. Focus on ebooks. (Software falls into
this category too but is much harder and time consuming
to create).
Here's where to get an excellent piece of software,
that won't cost you a cent, that will convert any document
you create into PDF formant. These are the types of
documents that can be downloaded and viewed by either
a PC or Mac.

This has a couple of major advantages. First, you don't
have to handle shipping. Everything can be done from
wherever you have a computer hooked into a modem. Most
of it is done through outside servers, so it keeps working
and making you money even while you're asleep.
The second advantage is that it allows you to satisfy
the urge for instant gratification. People are used
to going into a store and walking out with what they
bought as soon as they pay for it. They're not used
to buying something from someone thousands of miles
away and getting it just as quickly.
This is a powerful thing. Make sure that you emphasize
that in your sales letter too. Phrases like "Download
Now!," "Be Reading It Within Minutes," and "Instant
Access" all help to motivate people to act. And by assuring
them that they won't have to wait, you remove the fear
that they won't receive your product.
Everyone likes convenience. And they'll pay extra for
it.
For most people, it's best to stick with digital products
to get started doing business online.
But what? What could I base my new product on?
How about your own personal experience! Good ebooks
are based on the author talking about what they know
well. The very best one's are based on things the author
knows well and enjoys doing.
Is there something that someone you know wishes they
could do as well as you do? Is there something people
pay you to do?
There are people out there who will pay you to learn
the main things they need to know to do the same thing
well - to learn to handle the hardest, most challenging
parts of the job more easily, to fix problems they themselves
have.
How much more could a person make - or save - if they
could quickly learn to be as good at your specialty
as you are? Could you improve the process for anyone
involved? Could you help them do it in less time, safer
or less expensive? Could you show them how to make money
on the process instead of paying for it?
With "How to" information, your dealing with specific
steps that don't require any major creativity. All that's
required is accuracy, clarity and usefulness.
Figure out what it would take to accomplish a specific
task, then write a simple report on it. People will
gladly pay for a book that shows in clear, concise steps
how to fulfill their own personal dreams and desires.
